历史文化学院现有教工55人。在专任教师（44人）中，有博士生导师13人；教授23人，副教授12人；具有博士学位者40人。另有学校特聘教授3人，兼职教育硕士导师35人。学校拥有“万人计划”哲学社会科学领军人才2人（陈立柱教授、蒋建农教授），珠江学者特聘教授暨教育部新世纪优秀人才1人（陈文海教授），广东省“特支计划”青年文化英才1人（陈贤波教授）。学院教师在多个全国性的组织中担任学术职务，其中，陈文海教授任教育部高等学校历史学类教学指导委员会委员、中国法国史研究会副会长，陈长琦教授任中国魏晋南北朝史学会副会长，蒋建农教授任中国抗日战争史学会副会长和中华口述史研究会副会长，左双文教授任中国抗日战争史学会常务理事和中华口述历史研究会常务理事。在中国史、世界史两个一级学科，学院已形成若干具有鲜明特色的重点研究领域，如先秦史、魏晋南北朝史、明清史、中华民国史、宗教史、地区国别史等。

School of History and Culture has a total of 55 staff. Among 44 full-time teachers are 13 doctoral supervisors. 23 professors, 11 associate professors and 40 doctoral degree holders. In addition, the school has three special-term professors emplyed by South China Normal University and 35 part-time education master's supervisors. Professor Chen Lizhu, Professor Jiang Jiannong are leading talents in the field of philosophy and social sciences of the National Ten Thousand Talents Program. Professor Chen Wenhai is the special-term of Pearl River Scholar and the selected member of New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education. Professor Chen Xianbo is the young talent of Guangdong Special Support Program. Some teachers undertake academic work in some national academic organizations. Professor Chen Wenhai is the member of College History Teaching Steering Committee and the vice-chairman of Chinese Society of French Historical Studies. Professor Chen Changqi is the vice-chairman of Historical Association of Wei-Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasty of China. Professor Jiang Jiannong is the vice-chairman of Academy of History of Chinese Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Society of Chinese Oral History. Professor Zuo Shuangwen is the executive director of Academy of History of Chinese Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Society of Chinese Oral History. In the disciplines of Chinese History and World History, School of History and Culture has formed several research fields with distinct characteristics, such as the History of Pre-Qin, the History of Wei-Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasty, the History of Ming-Qing, the History of the Republic of China, the History of Religions, and the Regional and National History.
